The exciting phase of the league is here. Teams now understand their chances for the postseason and will be back on the whiteboard to plan for the future. One team that could use this trade period to rise to the championship contender level quickly is the Indiana Fever.
Even though the side had been in top form without Caitlin Clark, there are many loopholes that would prove costly in the playoffs. The side’s ambition is to clinch the WNBA title ‘NOW’. Here are three trade targets that will strengthen their credentials.
A Look At Indiana Fever’s Trade Targets
Those who stop getting better fade away in the competitions. The Indiana franchise’s early-season acquisitions were a bold and strong statement to challenge for the title in 2025.
But apart from Natasha Howard, no other player remained consistent and impactful for the team. Aari McDonald was a jackpot courtesy of DeWanna Bonner’s shocking decision. Yet there is still a chance of improvement, and coach Stephanie White will look to address them before the trade deadline.
3. Tiffany Hayes
The first one would be Tiffany Hayes. The guard forward is a perfect versatile player who would fit in seamlessly in White’s system. The player has been incredible for the Golden State Valkyries. But the team’s current poor run could force them to let go of one of their stars to build for the future.

Her ability to score quick buckets and fill in multiple positions is a very tempting proposition for a fast-paced Fever team.

2. Brittney Griner
Another profitable and impactful trade target would be Brittney Griner. Yes, the player who might have issues with the 2012 champions, but is professional enough to give her 100% when her team needs her.
The 2014 champion has size, length, and defensive ability to help Caitlin Clark and Co. calm the nerves in the fourth quarter. While her role might be a big question for HC White, given that Aliyah Boston and Natasha Howard have been incredible as starters for her.
1. Aliyan Edwards
Aliyah Edwards could also be a perfect fit. The Mystics’ star is getting fewer minutes, with other rookies shining brighter than her. She is a good substitute for AB and Howard, who will need a breather in the challenging and grueling schedule ahead. Edwards will provide size and defensive stability near the paint region.
Indiana Fever Lacks Depth In the Forward Position
The 2024 finalists, the Minnesota Lynx and New York Liberty, are already stacked with talent and seem strong contenders with multiple MVP-caliber players. Along with range scorers, they have a powerful defensive unit. CC, Kelsey Mitchell, Aari McDonald, and Sydney Colson could match up the backcourt of these sides. But the aspirant side lacks depth in the forward lineup.

Apart from the two-time champion Howard and AB, there is no dependable backup near the rim for the Fever. Damiris Dantas has been very inconsistent, while Briana Turner is yet to make a sizeable impact. Rookie Makayla Timson gets more gametime than these two established stars, but has a lot to learn yet.
With Blond-twins, Cunningham, and Hull getting overpowered easily, Stephanie White might look to add depth for the championship run.
