The Dallas Wings have been one of the most exciting teams in the WNBA. However, despite all the buzz around Paige Bueckers coming in, the team failed to make an impact. Thus, this time around, the likes of Bueckers wants to draw UConn roots to forge a winning culture.
Last year, Bueckers was the only silver lining for the Wings. As the team under Chris Koclanes failed miserably, it was time for a change at the helm for the franchise. And quite expectedly, the Wings announced Jose Fernandez as the new head coach.
Now, as the WNBA draft lottery is all set to take place on November 23, 2025, here are the top 3 names that the Wings must be on the lookout for.
3. Awa Fam

One of the biggest names going into the WNBA draft this year is Fam. Back in the 2024 FIBA Women’s EuroBasket, her numbers were more than impressive. Fam dropped averages of 8.7 points and 4.2 rebounds while playing for Spain. While she has been playing basketball since she was 15, her recent antics for Valencia have made her a top prospect for the franchises. Especially for the Wings, who are looking to build themselves a younger side, that would give them returns in the long run.
2. Azzi Fudd

Playing for the UConn Huskies, Fudd is one of the biggest names in the NCAA at the moment. Coached by the legendary Geno Auriemma, Fudd is currently busy leading the Huskies to an attempted championship run. Especially, considering the fact that her girlfriend Bueckers is with the Wings, Fudd’s induction to the team will mean that the team chemistry will witness a boost. Looking back, Fudd and Bueckers did have a stellar run for the Huskies. They played together to lead the side to a national championship. And with her current average reading of 17.8 points and 4.5 rebounds per game, it looks like Fudd could well be a great buy for the Wings.

1. Lauren Betts

Last but not least, the biggest name that the Wings can rope in would be none other than Lauren Betts. Donning the colors of UCLA, Betts has been boasting a steady average of 15.2 points and 7.8 rebounds this season. Surely, her presence on the Wings’ side will be something that would relieve a lot of pressure from Bueckers.
Thus, with a lot of exciting names to root for, fans cannot wait to see which youngster ultimately ends up getting paired with the Wings.
