Soon after the Los Angeles Sparks defeated the Dallas Wings, Angel Reese’s Chicago Sky got eliminated from the WNBA playoffs. Now, the opening line itself will serve as enough reason for the Sky fans to get disappointed. Unfortunately, with a dismal showing in this season, things are about to get worse for Chicago. As per the calculations, the probability of Sky ending up last on the WNBA table is a stark possibility. Now, alongside that, head coach Tyler Marsh is seemingly working hard to stay optimistic.
The Sky recently suffered yet another heartbreaking loss to the Las Vegas Aces. As it marked the 28th loss of the team this season, Chicago’s record looks a sorry 9-28. Although they are still a step up from the Dallas Wings(9-29), things might go awry at any moment. Surprisingly, even in the face of utter gloom, Marsh has some ‘moral victory’ to speak about.
Tyler Marsh Shares His Take On Chicago Sky’s Morale Victory
Marsh has tried to constantly inspire his team. Even Reese recently shared the reason behind the motivation of the Chicago Sky after the WNBA playoff elimination. She shared that it’s the love for basketball that keeps them going despite an unforgettable season. Now, when asked about his team’s recent performances, the Sky head coach had some interesting thoughts to share. Marsh stated that although the team lost, they had been fighting till the end. And that, for Marsh, is a morale victory for Chicago.

“I think in most situations, it’s hard to see the moral victory sometimes, but I think that the level of competition, the way that they’re continuing to fight, they way that they’re continuing to stay together, I think that speaks to one, their professionalism, but two, their trust and belief in what we’re doing,” said Marsh.
Well, Marsh does have a point here. At first glance, it might seem like nothing much has changed. However, a closer look will reveal that there has been, indeed, a slight change in approach. The team has been more resilient and has lost the games by closer margins than before. In fact, in one of the biggest shockers, Sky also defeated the New York Liberty 91-85. Meanwhile, staring down a dismal ending, the Chicago head coach also had an emotional message for his team.

Tyler Marsh Stresses On Sticking Together And Ending The Season On A High Note
The WNBA season has entered its business end. With all the teams pushing for playoffs, things are buzzing at the moment. Sadly enough, the eliminated teams are realizing the season is ending faster than they expected. And with the Chicago Sky looking down the barrel, coach Tyler Marsh had one final emotional speech to share.

In a recent statement, Marsh stressed the importance of the team sticking together in the last couple of games. He also pointed out that ending the season on a high note would be a pleasant memory for everybody. This is because, after the free agency, there is no certainty about whether the team will remain the same next season or not.
“We want to go out on a high note, not knowing what to expect going into next year with free agency. This could be the last time all of us are in the same locker room together. You would see how much we like being around each other despite the record,” Marsh told the media.
His speech is bound to stir his team’s emotions. It will most certainly inject a rejuvenated spirit to perform better. With just a few games left, fans will watch closely to see how Sky fares.
