Angel Reese is currently facing the wrath of the WNBA realm. After her comments became viral, the backlash that followed was extremely intense. Owing to the same, the Sky recently dropped a statement after Reese’s first-half suspension. They pointed out that the issue had been dealt with internally, and now, everything was under control. Surprisingly, while she was suspended for only the first half, fans were confused to see Reese missing from the entire game. And coach Tyler Marsh had the perfect reasoning for the same.
Sky recently faced off against the Las Vegas Aces. Unfortunately, despite some dire attempts from the team, Marsh’s girls could not crack the winning code yet again. As a result, Chicago succumbed to an 80-66 loss. Meanwhile, highlighting the mystery with Reese, the Sky head coach provided a detailed insight.
Tyler Marsh Reveals Angel Reese’s Injury Against The Las Vegas Aces
Now, then, Reese was supposed to come into the game in the second half. But just before the commencement of the same, she informed her team of a back injury. The Sky head coach confirmed that the 23-year-old star reported the same during the pre-game warmups. And looking at the long-term health of Reese, the management decided to rest her.

“She reported it to us during pre-game, and so in conjunction with the medical staff we wanted to be as cautious as possible,” Marsh said.

Well, the back injury has been bothering the 2024 rookie for a long time now. Owing to her lingering back niggle, Sky’s frontline star has missed 10 games this season. However, given the importance of Reese’s well-being, Marsh stated that despite her wanting to play the final two games, the management will be keeping a close eye on her injury. Meanwhile, following her fiery rant, the 23-year-old did apologize to her teammates. But that did not stop Jason Whitlock from lashing out at her.

Jason Whitlock Calls Angel Reese ‘Toxic’
Jason Whitlock is not at all pleased with how Reese went off on her teammates. Speaking about their frontline star, Whitlock pointed out that the Chi-town Barbie might have been ‘faking’ her injury. And that was not all. He also claimed that Reese was ‘toxic’ and that she was actually trying to get a trade from the Sky in order to team up with the likes of Paige Bueckers.

“This is what they say when you ghost the franchise with a “back” injury for 3 weeks. No one likes playing with Angel Reese. No one. Been true since college. She has a 2-year expiration date and people want her to evacuate. Toxic. I think she wants to play in Dallas w/ Paige and Azzi,” said Whitlock.
Surely, things are looking extremely problematic for Reese. Despite her apology, the backlash is not stopping. And with the situation escalating further, fans will be interested to see how things pan out next.
