College basketball has never been much entertaining before, with a number of top players eligible for the professional league and every team boosting their chances for the title.
One such team would be the UCLA Bruins, where Lauren Betts, the 2024-25 season’s top performer, is aiming to finish her college career on a high note. Sadly, the start was not as expected, with the player finishing the games in single digits.
Even Betts’ offensive game is under scrutiny as an analyst doubts the fit with Paige Bueckers. However, the Center then received a special message from her idol, Aliyah Boston.

Lauren Betts Revealed ‘Cool’ Advice From Idol Aliyah Boston
UCLA was one of the contenders for the NCAA title this season, with its last season’s performance behind the superstar forward. Even though they still are one of the top teams, the reason is not their 2025 defensive player of the year winner. Rather, Betts dropped to no.4 in the new mock draft after leading the charts at the start of the season.
A big reason for this drop was her struggles on the offensive end. But the Indiana Fever forward came ahead to help the star with her cool advice. Betts said, “She’s telling me ― she’s like, ‘Lauren, I don’t care what happens in the game. If you miss 10 layups, if you’re open to run that midrange, shoot the ball …Trust yourself. So I think to hear it from her, that was really, really cool because she’s obviously an amazing post [player]. She’s had such a great college career.”

AB won the NCAA title with the South Carolina team and is currently one of the top forwards in the WNBA, too. Aking her advice certainly helped Bets to get over her ‘slump’ as she is now dominating the paint region once again.
While many analysts see a drop in the UCLA center’s performance, the star still achieved an illustrious milestone in her career.
Lauren Betts With Special Milestone In Her College Career
The UCLA, after a surprising loss, stayed perfect on the floor with many other stars, including Kiki Rice, delivering at the highest level. While there are many key factors to the team’s later wins, one thing that fans were accustomed to was Betts’ dominance around the rim.
Scoring 25 points against Penn State, the powerful Center completed 1500 points in her career. The future megastar finished 11 for 19 from the floor. She sank a layup in the opening seconds to spark the first of a handful of lopsided runs for the Bruins.
