The WNBA’s future is looking quite tumultuous at the moment. With a lot of tensions going on with the CBA talks, there have been some alternate leagues that are stealing the show.
For one, the 3-on-3 league starter by Napheesa Collier and Breanna Stewart has been an instant hit. Only in its second year, Unrivaled has already expanded its roster with three young stars, including Paige Bueckers.
Another big attraction that has worked for Unrivaled is their salary cap. With the WNBA players protesting for better salaries, Unrivaled has been providing finances that make the WNBA look minuscule. And now, to further strengthen their case, Unrivaled has released a list of their development pool.
Who Are Featured In Unrivaled’s Development Pool?
While the likes of Caitlin Clark opted out of Unrivaled season 2 due to injuries, the league has secured a stacked roster. With Breeze BC coming in as an expansion side, the potential of the league looks pretty promising at the moment.

And to add to the list, the Unrivaled announced their development pool recently. While it consists of a total of six athletes, there are a couple of names that immediately catch the attention.

Chicago Sky star Hailey Van Lith and Indiana Fever center Makayla Timpson are two big names who have been featured. At the moment, Timpson is playing in the Czech Republic while Van Lith is recovering from her ankle injury.
As per the rules, the development players will be readily available to join any of the eight franchises as required. While they aren’t currently under contract with any team, these players can use all training facilities until a team calls them up.
Interestingly, the likes of Van Lith and Timpson might don the jerseys of more than one club if required. The other names on the list are Aziaha James, Haley Jones, Emily Engstler, and Laeticia Amihere.
Meanwhile, with season 2 of the league garnering some significant attention, it also released the roster selection rules for 2026.
What Are The Unrivaled Roster Selection Rules For 2026?
As per Bleacher Report, all the teams, including the two expansion teams this year, will be eligible to choose from the pool of 48 players. But the ones that reached the playoffs last time will have an edge over the others. These teams can retain up to two players from last year’s roster.

On the contrary, the ones who missed the playoffs can retain one player. Now, turning to the expansion teams, both Breeze and Hive will hold the rights to make the first and second calls. While Breeze got the first pick, Hive proceeded with the second.
