When the Unrivaled league season 2 started, Paige Bueckers’ pics went viral, highlighting her shredded body. The transformation was clearly visible with everyone loving the 2025 rookie’s efforts to adjust to the ‘W’. Azzi Fudd also can’t stop gushing over her former teammate’s new build.
There is a huge possibility of the duo joining hands again on the court, with the Wings winning the WNBA lottery draft and also Fudd constantly delivering on the 2025-26 NCAA season. But one factor that could still impact this possibility is HC Jose Fernandez.

Jose Fernandez’s Expertise To Impact Paige Bueckers-Azzi Fudd Reunion
The Dallas Wings appointed a long-term Florida Bulls coach, Jose Fernandez, ahead of the 2026 season. In his recent interview, Fernandez outlines the Dallas Wings’ plan for Paige Bueckers as the franchise is looking to build around its Rookie of the Year winner. With another top pick in hand, it eases the task for the front office.
Adding her former champion teammate makes a lot of sense considering their chemistry and combined impact on the court. But a WNBA analyst, Sabrina Merchant, has another player as the top pick for the 2026 draft. On the ‘No Offseason’ podcast, she said, “I think I have Awa Fam going to Dallas. She’s a Spanish center, 19 years old, hyper athletic, like the way she just explodes off of screens in the half-court, mimics drivers as a defender. She just has really good physical defensive tools.”
Interestingly, Fernandez has a reputation for recruiting international players and also has expertise in grooming young talent. Fam is 19, Spanish, a strong forward and has a larger career window than Fudd. A few analysts even call for forward recruitment for the Wings and praised Fam as a younger version of A’ja Wilson.

If the Wings select Fudd as the first overall pick, the transition for the player would be easier, and her early progress would help the side to gain an advantage early on in the season. But if things go in the other direction, then the UConn prodigy is ready with her plan.
Azzi Fudd Has Her Draft Plan Ready
While the UConn side is once again the favorite to win the NCAA championship, this time without PB. Individually, the player is in talks for the 2026 WNBA draft, and after her heroic performances, she is one of the top stars in the discussion.
Talking about her future, Fudd said, “I’ve been very intentional this year about not letting myself get wrapped in the future and what’s next. I don’t have a say in where I get to go, so no matter what team drafts me, there are going to be pros and cons to each. And I’ll be sure to find the pros in all of it.”

The versatile player would be a perfect fit for the Wings, who are undergoing a massive shake-up, and for the Washington and Seattle teams as well.
