The WNBA is reaching a pivotal point. As the league progresses, a look at the points table shows a much clearer picture. Now, speaking about the Los Angeles Sparks, the team came into the season with some high hopes. Unfortunately, their season hasn’t quite gone the way the team would have liked.
With 11 wins and 15 losses so far, the Sparks are currently at number 10. However, despite things looking quite somber, there is good news for Los Angeles. One of their biggest stars, Cameron Brink, is already set to return. And as the news spread like wildfire, a WNBA analyst dropped a bold prediction.
Sarah Spain Ignites Playoff Hopes Following Cameron Brink’s Return
Brink was missing in action for 406 days. After suffering an ACL injury, Brink had to be sidelined for a year. Thankfully for the Sparks, their superstar athlete looked quite fluid in her first game after the prolonged absence. Squaring off against the Aces, Brink chipped in with five points, three rebounds, a steal, and an assist. She also had a block to her name, further strengthening her comeback.
And owing to such a strong showing, speculations have started about whether the Sparks can get to the playoffs. Having won five of their last six games, the Sparks are indeed looking in a significantly better position. And WNBA analyst Sarah Spain is not missing out on the subtle signs. Speaking on the ‘DLS Hoops’
In a podcast, Spain made a bold prediction.
“The LA Sparks have won five games in a row and guess who just got cleared to play?” Spain said. “I had pretty much given up on the Sparks… I am interested to see if they can keep it up,” said Spain.

She further stated that the Los Angeles Sparks might be the eighth team to qualify for the playoffs. Now, in order to do this, Brink and co. will have to play out of their skins. However, they still have more than 15 games left to make a mark. Meanwhile, as the Sparks lost their game, Lynne Roberts was utterly impressed by the 23-year-old.
Lynne Roberts Praises Cameron Brink
Brink was called into action after just seven minutes. And while she played for just 14 minutes, Brink had an aggressive presence on the hardwood. And this was all that Lynne Roberts wanted to see. She pointed out that Brink performed better than she had anticipated.
“I thought she did a good job. To be honest, she was more comfortable out there than I anticipated her to be, just because of how long she’s been out, and coming in mid-season is hard. I thought she did a good job. She was active. I need to watch it back, but I thought she did a good job,” Roberts said in the post-game interview.

Thus, with Cameron Brink making quite a huge pop, fans are eager to see what happens next.
