Caitlin Clark has been out of the Indiana Fever lineup for a long time now. And in the absence of the 23-year-old rookie, her teammates are vested with the responsibility of taking the team forward. While she is currently practicing her endurance training, there is still no return timeline for the former Iowa star. Now then, with the team facing a significant challenge, a WNBA legend has expressed her frustrations regarding Aliyah Boston’s role.
Boston is surely one of the mainstays of the team. And as the team had a couple of close defeats, Boston’s performance has been put under the radar. So much so that the WNBA legend has not hesitated in mentioning how the 23-year-old has lost her way in a bid to focus more on the officiating.
Sheryl Swoopes Drops Blunt Confession On Aliyah Boston
WNBA officiating has been a topic of conversation throughout the season. Things have gotten so concerning that even Natalie Nakase has highlighted the ongoing WNBA officiating issues. Likewise, Boston, too, has had her differences with the officials. But according to Swoopes, these concerns might have diverted her mind away from the game.

In a recent episode of ‘The Women’s Hoops Show,’ the WNBA legend opined that the 23-year-old must focus on her game. While there might have been a call or two going against her, she must set those aside to help her team make up for Clark’s loss.
“I feel like, Aaliyah Boston right now, I don’t want to say she’s in a slump, but I feel like Aaliyah is whether the refs are giving her the calls or not, I feel like Aaliyah has gotten in her own head in her own way with the referees and it’s kind of taken her out of the way she plays,” Swoopes said.

Continuing further with her assessment of the Fever, Swoopes showered praises on Kelsey Mitchell. Following her impeccable 38-point performance, she earned a pat on the back from the WNBA legend. Meanwhile, coming back to Boston, there is no doubt regarding her potential. After all, only recently the 23-year-old became a part of Indiana Fever history.
Aliyah Boston Shines With Her Impressive Blocking Abilities
Boston might have been going through a rough patch at the moment. But she has definitely shown her intent and has gotten the results as well. In a recent update, the 23-year-old boasted of having 132 blocks against her name. And this has now made Boston rank third in Fever’s all-time list of blocks. In the process, she has also taken over Teaira McCowan (117) and Kelly Schumacher (131).

And that’s not all. In their recent game against the Sun, Boston played a fantastic supporting role to Kelsey Mitchell’s outburst. Playing for 36 minutes, the 23-year-old has 13 rebounds, five assists, and scored 14 points.
