The fans are on the edge of their seats after the exciting WNBA preseason games gave a preview of the upcoming thrills in the league. The new teams, players, and roster are all in for the ultimate prize. The broadcasters are also not behind with the Peacock network roping in A’ja Wilson, Sabrina Ionescu, and Paige Bueckers to promote their participation in the WNBA 2026 season.
Earlier, Amazon Prime announced its star-studded presenter lineup, and now the NBC and Peacock networks highlight their ‘ long relationship’ with the league. They strategically used three of the big names from the league in the advertisement.

The ad, designed to promote the WNBA on NBC/Peacock, features a “This is SportsCenter” style, with the stars passing through a “first day of work” tour of NBC offices. The big game players showed their interest and commented on various special photos the network had stored as memorabilia.
Moving through the passages, Bueckers stopped at Mariska Hargitay’s Olivia Benson and said, “Hard to believe she was a rookie once, too.” A’ja Wilson pointed at a photo of Weekend Update hosts-turned-sitcom stars Tina Fey and Amy Poehler and said, “These ladies changed the game, kinda like somebody else I know.”

Sabrina Ionescu also showed her interest in the impressive career of Betty White and said, “Talk about a Hall of Fame career.” The guide Chloe also put her photo on the wall and mentioned the catch phrase – suitable for the WNBA, “A girl can dream”.

While the highly impressive and impactful advertisement came to an end with that phrase, the network revealed the WNBA’s coverage on Peacock will commence on May 17.
WNBA To Have 216 Games Broadcast Nationwide
Just before the start of the season, the WNBA announced that its official app will broadcast all the preseason games for free, but most of the regular season and postseason games will be available on its broadcasting partners, which will accumulate a total of 216 games.
As per the ‘billion-dollar’ deal, the Ion will have 50 regular-season games, with the Friday doubleheaders as its primary focus. The USA network will have 48 games, most of them from Monday and Wednesday night fixtures. The Amazon Prime Video will have 30-31 games, including the right to the Commissioner’s Cup Final game.
ESPN and ABC will broadcast 30 games, including the All-Star weekend. CBS and Paramount will show 20-odd games, eight of which will be on primetime. While the NBA TV will broadcast 15 games for the fans. As NBC/Peacock advertised, they will start broadcasting on May 17 and air 15 games.

The teams with the most coverage include the Indiana Fever, who will have all 44 games on either network, while the Wings will have 36 games, one more than the Liberty and three more than the Aces.
