The 2026 season has multiple title contenders, with the top teams upgrading their rosters. The Indiana Fever also used the offseason and free agency wisely, making impactful additions. Yet the team lost the first game of the season, with multiple players struggling to reach 100% fitness.
While the coaching staff and team are looking into the reasons for the loss against the Dallas Wings, the front office has provided an impactful backup with the addition of Bree Hall to the developmental contract.

Indiana Fever Signs Bree Hall As Backup
With the new CBA, every team gets two developmental roster spots. The Indiana franchise already put the 2026 rookie Justine Pissott on its developmental roster spot and now added the 2025 rookie to the list, filling up the complete roster.
Making the official announcement, the Indiana Fever wrote, “We have signed guard Bree Hall to a player development contract.”

These players receive weekly stipends and benefits, practice with the team, and can be activated for up to 12 games per season, offering a pathway to a full roster spot.

While the franchise chose the player in the 2025 WNBA draft, the Indiana Fever GM praised the guard for her defensive ability. “Bree Hall [is] an elite defender on the perimeter, does a lot of things, really, really well. She guarded the best player on the other team [in college]. But you know, when she had the opportunity to take three pointers, she was very efficient in that role as well. So she brings a diverse skill set again, very long defensively, can get out and guard multiple positions on the perimeter,” Amber Cox said.
Ahead of the game against the Los Angeles Sparks, the team also provided an update on the player fitness.
