The WNBA is ready for the mega shakeup after the CBA deal confirmation. The expansion drafts and free agency chaos force a franchise to work closely on its picks and roster building. But the WNBA Draft is equally deep and confusing. To add to the mix, Madina Okot’s performances put many franchises in a double mind over their choices.
While Free agency and expansion drafts will hand franchises a proven talent at the highest level, Okot, along with Azzi Fudd, Olivia Miles, and Lauren Betts, is showing off the quality in the young players.

Madina Okot’s Performances Raise Competition In WNBA Draft
The South Carolina team is once again showing its capability to challenge for the title with its versatile lineup and offensive gameplay. While Raven Johnson and Tessa Johnson are stealing the headlines, the Kenian star is also impactful for Dawn Staley’s team.
Okot leads South Carolina in rebounds and blocks, and can convert around the rim, making her an all-around offensive threat. The NCAA Tournament provides a high-visibility evaluation opportunity for players like Okot to boost her draft stock.

While the recent mock draft shows top 10 draft prospects, who are delivering at the highest level in the NCAA championship tournament, the Indiana Fever has a realistic chance of landing the South Carolina star.
Caitlin Clark to Benefit From Madina Okot?
The Indiana Fever became an intriguing destination following the 2025 season performances. While it also has just three players on contract for the 2026 season, two of them are part of their core: Caitlin Clark and Aliyah Boston. Both Rookie of the Year winners are looking to win it all in the final season of AB’s rookie contract and will take much of their help from the roster.

With Mikayla Timpson still under contract, the franchise can gamble on keeping her out of the protection draft and secure Sophie Cunningham already. If Timpson is available for the 2026 season post-expansion draft, the franchise can go for a guard as backup for CC, and if either of the expansion teams chooses Timpson, the franchise would go for Okot, who proved to be a more effective and efficient forward.
The mock draft currently shows Okot hovering around the first round pick, and the Fever team can take her at the number 10 position, where Clark could get the best out of the talented forward.
