The CBA confirmation has been one of the best pieces of news from the WNBA so far, after criticism and negativity overshadowed the three-decade completion of the league for the last five months. Caitlin Clark spoke about needing to compromise and also hinted at face-to-face meetings between parties to resolve the issues.
The WNBA and PA did exactly the same after 100+ hours of marathon meetings in seven days, and compromising on the demands to seal the deal.
Now that the franchise has a green signal to proceed with the season, there will be a WNBA draft, adding more young stars to the rosters, and the Indiana Fever will look to strengthen its young core around franchise player, Clark.

Three Players Who the Indiana Fever Could Draft To Help Caitlin Clark
The Indiana Fever faces many issues with the supermax contract provision in the new CBA terms, which will give them a chance to pick just one player from the franchise eligible for the max salary. With that, the team might lose some key players in the free agency or in the expansion draft who helped the side reach the semifinals of the 2025 season.
Keeping the depth of the situation and avoiding such situations in the future, the side will look to add a talented rookie, who would be impactful enough to help the side compete for a championship and also attract low salaries commercially. One thing that the front office will look for would be the rookie’s possible compatibility with star guard Caitlin Clark.

A top player from South Carolina, who nearly qualifies her as a first-rounder in the upcoming WNBA draft. The Fever team had success with Aliyah Boston, drafting her in 2023 and now can get another Dawn Staley student to help them win a championship.
She has an elite 6-foot-6 frame, rim protection, and a developing interior-exterior game. Her ability to dominate the paint while offering rebounding and potential floor-stretching ability (averaging 13.4 points, 10.9 rebounds, 1.6 blocks) complements Clark’s playmaking.
Her high motor as a South Carolina prospect makes her an effective option in transition and a versatile defender, fitting a high-paced team.
Kiki Rice
The UCLA star is one of the reasons, alongside Lauren Betts, that the side is a top contender for the NCAA championship this season. With UCLA looking to set the record for most drafts in a single season, Rice leads UCLA as the top guard prospect for the 2026 WNBA Draft.

Her high-level perimeter defence, versatile playmaking, and rapid development as a consistent perimeter shooter will complement Clark’s offensive dominance. As a 5-foot-11 senior guard from UCLA, Rice has established herself as a steady “do-it-all” presence who can relieve pressure on Clark while thriving in a secondary scoring role.
Although it’s difficult to see her on the block, considering her potential and specific team requirements.
Serah Williams

A UConn prospect has been the top player in the talented quad, but with players like Sarah Strong and Azzi Fudd around her, she is often overlooked. The 6-feet-4 is the top interior defender, a place where the Fever team struggled last season.
She is showcasing strong physical rebounding and improving her versatile offensive game. Her ability to anchor the paint and provide defensive security allows a high-tempo guard like Clark to focus on offence, while her ability to finish in the paint or face up for shots complements Indiana’s need for frontcourt depth.
The Indiana Fever hold the 10th overall pick in the first round of the 2026 WNBA Draft. They also hold the 25th overall pick (2nd round). The Fever team held onto Makayla Timpson from the 2025 WNBA draft and will look to have a similar quality player on the block with their first-round pick. The draft, scheduled for April 13, will give fans a clear picture of the Fever roster for the 2026 season.
