The Unrivaled Season 2 received widespread criticism for inconsistent officiating, with many missed calls and incorrect decisions impacting the game. The fans do not want to see a repeat of the WNBA’s mistakes; the physicality in the Unrivaled league has certainly increased. Recently, a heated moment between Marina Mabrey and Courtney Williams highlighted the same.
Though referees issued technical fouls to both players, the incident showed how the league is slowly allowing excessive contact, which leads to fights. The Sun guard opened up on her reasons.

Marina Mabrey Tells the Reason Behind Her Aggressive Play Against Courtney Williams
With the regular season coming close to its conclusion, every player needed to be at their best to help the side record a win. During a game between Lunar Owls and Vinyl BC, Mabrey attempted a shot and missed. Getting a rebound, the veteran guard attacked the rim. However, as she went up for another shot attempt, Williams fouled her, grabbing her arm.
Mabrey retaliated by coming after Williams as Dearica Hamby jumped in between the two. In the recent interview, the guard explained her side as she said, “I think people don’t always understand what it’s like to compete against the same people over and over and over again. I have tried to make this baseline move on Courtney for seven years, as she keeps cutting it off. So yes, I am pissed.”

While Napheesa Collier said she hopes no one gets hurt, especially when both are her teammates, Mabrey came up with an anger-management solution.
Marina Mabrey Came Up With ‘Crash-Out Jar’
Many see the veteran guard as a physical player on the court, and controlling her anger would help her settle some nerves. To overcome the situation, the player used the ‘Crashout Jar’ technique to remind her about keeping her calm.
Introducing the jar, she set a price on every fight, swear words, or even a bd word towards the referee. Counting her fouls in the game against the Vunyl BC, she put in $90.
On similar lines, Lisa Leslie also thrashed Brittney Griner’s dirty foul over Aliyah Boston. The league needs to limit such incidents to differentiate itself from the WNBA.
