Well before the Wings vs. Fever mega fixture, both players talked about each other. An unfiltered and honest opinion that would highlight their actual game.
Paige Bueckers Lauds Caitlin Clark’s Fire
The host of the game was not new to the comparisons and competition with the 024 WNBA Rookie of the Year. She mentioned that they understand the game well, from a competitor on the court to a fan after the games. The 2025 NCAA Champion praised Clark’s fire and ability to change the game outcome with her aggressive play.
“She can just take the game apart any which way she decides. She just reads the game extremely well at all levels. Just the excitement that she brings and competitive fire, you see it every single time she plays,” Bueckers said in the interview(via Twitter/@ericaf455).

Indiana’s prized star is an explosive scorer, with no limit to her shooting range. She also reads the game well and threads pinpoint passes to an open player, making the game easy for the side. Recently, Aliyah Boston also highlighted her teammate’s impact on the game, making it easy for the side.
Caitlin Clark Respects Paige Bueckers’ Efficiency
But it was not only PB showing love and respect to CC in the interview. The former Iowa star also spoke highly about her competitor and record-breaking WNBA rookie. Even during her draft night, the Fever guard welcomed her with open arms and wished her a bright future. In the same video, she was seen complimenting the 22-year-old rookie for her efficiency.

“You love competing against top-tier talents. I’ve always admired her style and how she handles herself. She’s so fluid in all she does, efficient, deadly from anywhere: long-range, mid-range, at the rim. A true three-level threat. What makes her tough is her versatility. They faced each other only once in the 2025 season so far, with the Fever guard nursing her injuries. Both delivered outstanding performances in that game, with the former Iowa star securing a double-double in points and assists.
