With a brand new season starting in a day, one of the biggest areas of interest is Caitlin Clark’s return. After delivering strong performances in the preseason games, the Indiana Fever star looks ready to take the hardwood by storm. Last year, the 24-year-old had a disappointing season, playing only 13 games owing to her injury.
Coming to the 2026 season, the Fever has made some valuable additions to the team. Yet, the entire roster is expected to pivot around the 2-time WNBA All-Star. And as the former Iowa star is impressed with the free agency picks, the former Rookie of the Year pointed out a couple of flaws in her game that she wanted to improve.

Touted as the face of the WNBA, the 2024 WNBA assists leader has some shortcomings in her game! Well, as surprising as it might sound, this piece of admission came from none other than the star point guard herself. Looking to improve on a couple of areas, the 24-year-old pointed towards working on her defensive rebounding and screening.
“I try to be a great defensive rebounder. I need to improve. That’s something I didn’t do too hot in the preseason games,” said Clark.

How Does Stephanie White Expect Caitlin Clark To Perform In 2026?
Clark’s recovery took quite a while. But once she was 100% fit, the young phenom did not want to sit out of the practice sessions. However, trying to keep the team’s mainstay stress-free for the season, the Fever head coach dropped some simple expectations going forward.

“I just want to see her play with joy. It was such a hard year a year ago. When you’re going through injury, it’s tough. … I want to see her enjoy the opportunity that we have and this team that we have,” said White.
