The Indiana Fever hosted the Nigerian national team in the team’s final preseason game, and the hosts controlled the proceedings at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse Arena. Stephanie White so far had been cautious with Aliyah Boston and Caitlin Clark’s usage in the preseason games.
In the final preseason game, CC scored 12 points, shooting 75% from the field, and impressed with her pinpoint passing. Fans reacted to her performance as the side is excited for the 2026 regular season games.

Fans React To Caitlin Clark’s Performance Against Nigeria
It was the sixth international opponent for the former Iowa star on the basketball floor as the Fever playmaker played in the FIBA World Cup Qualifiers and shone for Team USA. Returning from injury, Clark won the highest honor in the competition and now did the same for her Fever team with another clinical performance.
Playing for just 13 minutes, the 24-year-old scored 12 points and collected two rebounds. With her eye-soothing passing, the player once again showed her capability on the floor as the Fever team dominated the game against the visitors, with every Fever player making an impact in the game.

Fans, though, loved Clark’s gameplay. They already declared her the most valuable player even in the loss against the Wings, and with the current win, they are just waiting for the 2026 season tip-off.

Playing her for 13 minutes, Stephanie White once again stayed true to her idea of using a cautious approach for the star players. While the coach is looking to protect the player from unnecessary injuries, the star is willing to be part of most of the activities around her and pointed out a smart approach for the gameplay.
Caitlin Clark Highlights Smarter Approach For 2026 Season
After playing in just 13 games and sitting out most of the 2025 season due to injury, it’s obvious that the Fever front office and coaching staff are looking to give its superstar player much ease on the floor and in training camp. But the player is opposing that idea.
“I’m a person that doesn’t want to sit out a single rep, like I want to be in there every single time. But I think just being a little bit smarter with my body … whether that’s recovery, whether that’s pre-court treatment, whatever it is,” Clark responded.

“I was talking to (Stephanie White) a little bit, and I’m the person that doesn’t want to sit out a single rep. I want to be in there every single time. … None of that has changed, but just being a little bit smarter with my body. …” pic.twitter.com/U2eLdTi2Vl
CC even highlighted that he will use every player on the floor to stay fresh by letting them control the possession every now and then. While all these plans are still on paper, it will be interesting to see them and healthy Clark on the floor.
