Former WNBA Draft Pick Joins Kentucky Wildcats For 2026 Season

During the 2025 WNBA draft, Olivia Miles opted to use her one year of eligibility and returned to the NCAA. While later she gave a reason for her decision to return to college, another player was even selected in the WNBA and chose to stay in her foreign league for one more year: Ajsa Sivka.

The 20-year-old was the 10th overall pick in the 2025 WNBA draft and opted to remain in the European league. The player is once again in the news, having chosen to join the Kentucky Women’s basketball team instead of the WNBA.

While the Kentucky women’s basketball program was looking to make a stronger return to the league in the coming season, it announced the addition of a WNBA pedigree. The former Sky selection, Ajsa Sivka, became a new member of the Kentucky-based side.

“I am delighted to welcome Ajsa to our program. Her combination of size and skill will fit into our system seamlessly. Ajša is a tremendous shooter, scorer, and playmaker from the wing position, and she will add experience to our team. BBN, let’s welcome Ajsa to our family!” Coach Brooks told the media.

The star will be available for the 2026-27 season, and her decision will be crucial to her adjustment to the USA style of basketball.

After adding the strong forward, Kentucky’s roster will be 11, and they will now be looking for another impactful player to have a stronger 2026-27 season.

Ajsa Sivka Provides Kentucky Wildcats Solidity

The player has just been compared to the Spanish star, Joventut Badalona, which is a great compliment for a 6-foot-4 player at such a young age. Her performance backed her with her 8.4 points and 3.6 rebounds per outing on 40.2 percent shooting from the floor. She even shot a respectable 33.8 percent from deep.

At the highest level, too, she averaged 7.7 points and 2.7 rebounds on 50 percent shooting at the EuroBasket Women’s Championship last year. This outing includes a strong 16-point performance against Italy.
