Angel Reese might have been one of the most-followed stars in the WNBA, but she also faced massive trolling and criticism. Former First Lady Michelle Obama sent heartfelt praise to Reese amid growing popularity. While she highlighted the player’s attitude and handling of the situation with a smile, the former LSU star shared a cryptic post on social media.
The 24-year-old had been active on social media and provided updates to her fans to avoid any conflict or confusion. And now her post with bible verses attracted attention.

Angel Reese With Cryptic Biblical Post
The former Sky Rookie received a warm welcome from the Atlanta Dream team members and fans as she made a move well before the free agency signings. And now, before the start of the season, the player shared a post, indicating protection against ‘adversities’.
In the post, Reese wrote, “No weapon formed against me shall prosper. Covered, protected, chosen. Always.”

While the player shared Bible verses on multiple occasions, the timing of this post is especially meaningful given the start of the 2026 season. Reese already shared an optimistic message about her first season with the Atlanta Dream and said she would be looking to make the most of the opportunity to play alongside multiple All-Stars.

Even though she shared a post regarding ‘protection’, one of her former teammates fired shots against her during the recent media interaction.
Former Teammate Provides Angel Reese with Advice
The key reason for Reese’s departure from the Sky roster was her ‘broken’ relationship with the rest of the roster. One player she directly attacked was Courtney Vandersloot, who played only a limited number of games due to injury. The veteran guard recently addressed the comments made by a 2024 rookie.
“I’ll say it didn’t feel good,” Vandersloot said. “I think at first it was an emotional thing, you know? There was an emotional response to it. And the more I think about it, I understand what she was trying to say. Do I think that it was necessary she said that? No. I think that was the biggest thing for me.”

She added, “But it was more big picture for me because I didn’t even really know the comments that she said about me until way later in the day. I just thought that it could have been handled differently.”
While the trade certainly ends the chapter, games between Sky and Dream might be more fierce now.
