WNBA free agency is now mixing up players and teams, with the biggest free agency market giving teams an opportunity to add talented, experienced stars. Jackie Young already made history with her latest contract, while Nneka Ogwumike signs with the Los Angeles Sparks, as her sister Chiney Ogwumike announced. But the Sparks will lose one of their stars, Azura Stevens, in free agency.
The former UConn star joined the Sparks as a free agent in 2023 and extended her contract to one more season in 2024. As per reports, the talented forward will be playing in another franchise, as the star refused to re-sign the free agency contract

Azura Stevens Declined Sparks’ Free Agency Advancement
With the free agency window closing, the players are making their decisions. The former Wings forward is one of the top players available on the market following her career-high season with the Sparks and performance in the Unrivaled league.
According to the reporter, Khristina, the 30-year-old star is ready to move away from the Sparks’ declining re-signing offer. In the 2026 season, she is an unrestricted free agent and is a top-tier free agent, now allowing her to sign with any other franchise.

But her former team, the Dallas Wings, will also be looking to bring her back to Texas, given her connections with Paige Bueckers during the Unrivaled league and USA basketball. The expansion teams would also love to have the veteran forward on their rosters to provide veteran support.
