The historic 30th season of the WNBA is almost here. Following a tumultuous offseason, the situation is finally under control in the women’s professional basketball league. Focusing back into the game, the teams are trying to put up the best possible rosters to make the season memorable for the fans.
But one team, the Las Vegas Aces, will be more eager to chase history. After all, they have built a dynasty in the last few years. In just a matter of four years, the Aces have won three WNBA titles in 2022, 2023, and 2025. Now, riding on A’ja Wilson’s immense success, the team is looking to defend their title, in the process, cementing their legacy as one of the best teams to have played the tournament. But the big question is, do they have the resources to pull off another championship-winning season?

The Las Vegas Aces Already Have A Championship Mentality
Comparing the Aces’ surge, only two teams come to mind. The Houston Comets and the Minnesota Lynx. Now, Houston was a long time ago when the league was only in its infancy. With so many years having passed, the entire dynamics of the game and the league as a whole have changed drastically. Next up, the Lynx did win four titles in seven seasons. But Napheesa Collier and co. could never win back-to-back.
And this is exactly where Las Vegas’ surge is different. The team already knows what it takes to defend a championship. They have done it back in 2023 and are once again looking to replicate the same this year. Surprisingly, winning is not enough in Vegas. Players within the team are continuously striving to make a unique impact and distinguish themselves from the others.
Chelsea Gray, who has seen it all with the Aces, rightly summed up the mentality during the media day, saying, “Yeah, I think we’re aware of what we’re building and now we’ve set some championships and accolades and some people like, yeah, it is a dynasty. But how can we make this dynasty different than the ones that have been created before? And I think that’s like how we empower people, how we, share our stories, our journey together, will be different.”

Not only Gray, but newcomer NaLyssa Smith, too, got the hang of how the outfit aspires for nothing less than victory. As Smith extended her wholehearted praise for the culture, a look at the Aces roster will reveal how they might be powering through their opponents to clinch a consecutive championship.
How Does The Las Vegas Aces Roster Look?
Well, the very first name that comes to mind when speaking about the Aces is that of Wilson. Playing some stellar basketball last season, the 2025 WNBA MVP will be eager to repeat her antics on the hardwood. Wilson’s surge has impressed the likes of Awa Fam, who now looks up to the Vegas star as her inspiration.

Surprisingly, while all the eyes will be on the 29-year-old, the Aces are not a one-woman army. Taking care of the shooting is Gray, who is still enjoying her ‘Point Gawd’ era to the fullest. Additionally, young talents like Jackie Young have also impressed. Last year, Young dropped averages of 16.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 5.1 assists per game. And if that was not enough, the front office has also added utility players such as Chennedy Carter, who can make a significant impact on the Aces’ quest for victory.
Lastly, one cannot forget how important Becky Hammon is to the team.
Will Becky Hammon Lead The Las Vegas Aces To Victory Again?
The Aces were counted out by the critics in the middle of the season last year. Having dropped to a dismal .500 in August 2025, nobody gave them a chance. But for Hammon, she always enjoyed taking on new challenges. Turning the season around for Las Vegas, the team surges ahead to defeat the Phoenix Mercury and win the championship.

Speaking about Hammon’s uniqueness, Smith pointed out last year, “She [Becky Hammon] just has a great balance of knowing how to push her players and then just always motivating you and always telling you all the positive things. I think, sometimes, a lot of coaches, they forget that you have to have that balance, or you’ll lose your players. Becky does a tremendous job always just building everybody up regardless of the situation.”
Surely, with everything pointing towards another stellar season for the Aces, fans are now eager to know what happens next.
