Olivia Miles might have had an emotional moment missing out on the Final Four. But her overall season, in no manner, can be called a letdown. Playing an impressive hand, Miles dropped 19.6 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 6.6 assists. And despite being touted as the probable No. 2 WNBA draft prospect last year, the TCU star decided to spend an additional year in college.
Thankfully, what initially looked like a ‘dumb’ decision, the 23-year-old turned it into a masterstroke. With the latest CBA raising the pay scale significantly, the Notre Dame guard is now ready to brush shoulders with the likes of Napheesa Collier and more.

Olivia Miles Bags Lucrative Deal As Minnesota Lynx Aims For Glory
While the sun has taken one full round of the Earth, it seems like a rendezvous for the 23-year-old star all over again. As the WNBA draft went live, it was Minnesota who called her as the number 2 overall pick for the year. While the opportunity of representing a champion side is enough motivation, with the new CBA already approved by the league, Miles’ rookie contract looks pretty lucrative.
According to reports from Front Office Sports,’ the 2026 Big 12 Player of the Year will earn a first-year base salary of $466,913. However, in the second and third years, the number will scale up to $485,590 and $534,149, respectively.

Summing up Minnesota’s choice, CBS Sports’ Erica Ayala stated, “Olivia Miles is someone who is going to be able to facilitate things offensively, I think she can get you defensive stops as well. I think we look at where Minnesota is at, Miles is someone that can distribute the ball. We know Olivia Miles is able to get a handful of triple doubles and things of that nature so I think that likely what Cheryl Miller and company are thinking with going with Miles.”

Surely, her addition to the side will boost Minnesota’s chances of winning the championship. Together with Collier and Kayla McBride, Miles will form a fearsome trio up front. And thus, it might just be time for the Lynx fans to start dreaming about a stellar run.
Is Olivia Miles The Missing Piece For The Minnesota Lynx?
There can be no doubts about the Lynx’s credibility as a championship contender. While they already have a strong offense, on certain occasions, things looked a bit off last year. And that is exactly where Miles fits in perfectly. Playing for TCU, the 23-year-old dropped a 48.1% shooting from the field. And that’s not all. Her single-season records also included 744 points, 252 assists, and 268 field goals.
Thus, there is no doubt that Lynx’s opponents this year will have a tough time containing their offensive surge. Owing to her ankle surgery, Collier is expected to miss the first half of the season. Without the New Jersey native, things might have gone awry.
Now, as things look rosy, fans will look to see what’s next.
