The Indiana Fever lost their first home game in the season as they hosted the Wings in the preseason game. While the two sides will face each other in a regular season in a week’s period, the game held much importance for fans of both teams. Moreover, it was a clash between two generational talents in the league, Paige Bueckers and Caitlin Clark, who are now forming a healthy ‘rivalry’ in the league.
Both players started well and maintained high standards, with an elite shooting display. While Clark exited the game after an injury in the third quarter, Bueckers was available but was not needed in the finishing stage of the game. Amid this, the WNBA declared the former UConn star as the player of the game, which drew mixed reactions from fans.

The WNBA now has multiple talented young rookies with a handful of veterans dominating the league. Clark and Bueckers are two such top rookies who not only showed a high level of performance but brought in massive fan following for the league.
So when both players faced each other, there was massive hype around the game. After the Fever’s loss, the league declared Paige Bueckers as the player of the game with 20 points, three assists, and four three-pointers.
Fans who watched the game and also had a complete stat sheet in front of them questioned the decision, while a few fans also backed the analysis, calling the Wings’ guard a real GOAT.

Now looking to make a decision on her gametime, Coach White said, “I love her energy. We’ve got to find minutes for her. And we’ve got to find minutes for her in a good rotation.”
Caitlin Clark already took Raven Johnson under her wings and is mentoring her. The player is also very happy with her seniors, looking to get more knowledge from them with multiple questions.
