While every Wings’ star was up to the mark, top pick Azzi Fudd’s slow start and struggles in the game quietly became the headlines, considering her selection as the top pick in the 2026 WNBA draft. Angel Reese came forward to support the former UConn star, though.

In the recent interview, the Dream star highlighted the tough transition from college to pro basketball and backed the 22-year-old to do well.

Angel Reese Praises Azzi Fudd

Joining the Sky franchise, the former LSU star carried a lot of expectations and understands the difference between NCAA and WNBA games. So when a reporter asked her about Fudd’s performance in the opening game, she was not at all worried.

“So, just being able to give yourself grace. It takes time to adjust, some faster than others. But I think she’s gonna continue to do a great job. Her shot obviously speaks for itself, and she’s one of the best shooters in this league. I think she’ll easily, seamlessly get into this league well,” Reese said.

The Wings coach, Jose Fernandez, also showed faith in the star player, noting that she is ready to take on the starter role.

Angel Reese Excited Over Atlanta Dream’s Road Victories

On the dream side, the former NCAA Champion has already said she is there to win, and in just two games, she showed what she meant. The two-time All-Star averaged 11.5 points, 15.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.5 steals, and 2.0 blocks across the two games and shared a bold message on her IG Story.

The Dream side is only one of three unbeaten teams in the league, and both those wins came on the road. Now the side will host the Aces at home on May 16.
