Fans were excited to see the 2026 season getting underway. Many fans were hoping to see Caitlin Clark return to the action after the player missed the majority of the 2025 season due to multiple injuries.
Although she played for Team USA and won the MVP award at the FIBA World Cup Qualifiers, there were concerns over her health as the player constantly ran to the medical staff during the opening game. Coach Stephanie White shrugged off any injury concern and detailed Clark’s body adjustments.
The player, though, recently opened up on the ‘actual’ issue, which is more mental than physical.

Caitlin Clark Opens Up On Mental Struggles
The Indiana Fever built its team around the 2024 rookie, who shone in the very first season, setting multiple records and even entering the MVP conversations. But the groin injury and leg injury in the 2025 season changed the scenario, affecting her explosive scoring and aggressive gameplay.
“I think the hardest part of injury is something I’m still really battling and almost struggling with is just the mental hump of getting over everything,” Clark said in her recent pregame media availability.

“I understand my body too well to a point now, and it’s something I wasn’t in touch enough with before my injuries. And now I understand it very well. You just become hypercautious about certain things,” CC added.
One player who has been in the spotlight throughout his career, just like CC, is LeBron James. Although he has never had a long season-ending injury in his career so far, the player extended his support for the Fever playmaker.
LeBron James Extends Support To Caitlin Clark
The former Iowa star sees the Lakers’ superstar as the ‘GOAT’ of the game for his accomplishments, gameplay, and longevity. The NBA star also spends a lot on his conditioning and has always been in top shape despite playing for 20+ years at the highest level.
In a recent interview with ESPN, the Fever guard narrated the story as she said, “LeBron has just been there to support me more than anything. He understands the microscope that I’m under, and the spotlight that’s on me, and I think he just wants to be there for me more than anything. When I was hurt last year, he reached out and was like, ‘Is there any way I can help you? Is there anybody I can connect you with?“

The Fever fanbase would hope to see her return to 100%, which would allow her and the team to perform better. The Indiana Fever is one of the top five teams in the 2026 season, competing for the championship, only if they stay completely healthy on the court.
