The WNBA drafts are over, with teams nearly filling up their final roster spots for the training camps. While many rookies might not play in the actual season, first-rounders usually get a nod from the franchise looking to build around them. The Dallas Wings chose to go with UConn’s star Azzi Fudd, and the 2024 finalists, the Minnesota Lynx, strengthened their roster by landing Olivia Miles as the No. 2 pick.
Analysts saw many positives about all the top picks, making the 2026 rookie seasons much more interesting to watch. Former champion Candace Parker, though, feels that the Lynx’s top pick is in a much better place at the moment.

Parker lauded Miles on the recent episode of the ‘Post Moves’ podcast and hinted that the coach would make her an even better star.
“To me, Olivia Miles is a franchise changer… What Cheryl Reeve is about to do with Olivia Miles, like, this is absolutely crazy,” Parker said.
