The Minnesota Lynx will be one of the frontrunners for the championship this year. Unfortunately, ahead of the season, Napheesa Collier’s injury came as a somber update for the roster. After all, Napheesa Collier has anchored the team, and doctors do not expect her to return before June.
Thankfully for the franchise, the front office had acquired Olivia Miles as the number 2 overall pick. With only three games into the recent WNBA season, the former TCU standout is making some significant contributions already. While feeling excited, head coach Cheryl Reeve wants to keep her fingers crossed.

Cheryl Reeve Happy With Olivia Miles’ Low Turnover
The Minnesota Lynx have won two out of their first three games. And in each of the games, it was Miles who made sure the roster did not feel Collier’s absence. Putting up a stellar show, the 23-year-old only had eight turnovers in three games. Quite expectedly, such a performance has made the head coach utterly elated. But she does not want to jinx the momentum by being too happy.
Speaking to the media, Reeve stated, “Don’t be jinxing us(smiles)… that’s something we talked to her about, some things that we wanted her to focus on. Taking care of the basketball was one of them. I think she’s sort of realizing the impact when you make a decision or your being to lose with it, whatever. She’s been more mindful, I think she’s been more intentional and obviously we’re going to keep her in that space”

Surely, the 5-foot-10 star has been impressive. Facing off against the Dallas Wings, the task was not easy. With the likes of Paige Bueckers, Arike Ogunbowale, Odyssey Sims, and more, the Wings were a formidable side. But Miles’ 15 points, two rebounds, and six assists eased the game as the Lynx won 90-86.

Now then, Cheryl Reeve had appreciated Olivia Miles on more than one occasion.
Cheryl Reeve Was Immediately Impressed With Olivia Miles
Playing for college, the former Notre Dame star averaged 19.6 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 6.6 assists. Apparently, such a portfolio was enough to impress Reeve. Following her induction into the Lynx’s roster, the head coach looked happy with the 23-year-old’s progress.
Reeve said, “Liv is doing great… She’s locked in and asking the right questions… each game brings something different, and we kind of talked about like in college, maybe sometimes you can play half the effort and still win by 20. We just talk a lot about how hard is to win possessions in this league and really challenging her both on a defensive side and offensive side.”

Additionally, the 5-foot-10 star has a special feeling representing the Lynx. Thus, with things looking rosy, fans will be excited to see more such performances from Miles in the future.
