As soon as the new CBA was approved by the board of governors, the excitement was at its peak with the WNBA. With all eyes on the draft, one of the hottest topics going around was whether Azzi Fudd would reunite with Paige Bueckers. And there were a lot of reasons for the speculations and hype shooting through the roof.
For one, both Fudd and Bueckers were teammates at the UConn Huskies. Not only that, their incredible bonding on the court helped UConn win the NCAA championship in 2025. But there was another point of interest from the fans. The duo was real-life romantic partners. However, as Fudd got drafted to the Wings, things became a little complicated. And DeWanna Bonner recently pointed out what it is to balance professional and personal relationships all at once.

DeWanna Bonner Gives Pro Advice On How To Handle Relationships
Fudd and Bueckers are not the only couple in the WNBA. One of the most popular on and off court chemistry has been brewing between Bonner and Alyssa Thomas. Suiting up for the Phoenix Mercury, the lovebirds have seldom gotten themselves into complications or controversies. Recently speaking with Eliav Gabay, the 34-year-old star spilled the secrets of their healthy relationship.
“I feel my personal relationship is my personal relationship. AT (Alyssa Thomas) and I have been doing this for a long time. I feel like we know how to handle things,” said Bonner.

Well, this was quite solid advice for any young couple looking to maintain both aspects of their life. And the reason the talks about the Dallas Wings duo is getting traction is because of an awkward Azzi Fudd moment spotted by the fans.
Unlike DeWanna Bonner, Azzi Fudd’s Relationship Is Facing Significant Scrutiny

The year 2026 is a very special one for the Huskies star. As the number one overall pick, the 2025 NCAA champion entered the league with “next big thing” expectations. However, the situation soon turned awkward when reporters asked the 2025 NCAA Tournament MOP about her relationship.
The Dallas Wings’ PR team intervened and stated, “I would understand why you have to ask that question. We’re going to respectfully decline from commenting on our players’ personal lives.”
