The WNBA is seeing a lot of action right now. Soon after they signed the new CBA deal, blockbuster news started to emerge. For example, Angel Reese took everyone by surprise after she joined the Atlanta Dream. And while the teams are busy preparing for free agency, some news has seemingly made the fans dissatisfied.
Following Reese’s blockbuster announcement, all eyes are now on the Indiana Fever. Recently, Sophie Cunningham dropped a major hint about her WNBA future. However, a recent decision by the Fever’s front office has left fans frustrated.

Indiana Fever Re-Signs Damiris Dantas Much To The Fans’ Agony
The Indiana Fever has signed Damiris Dantas for the 2026 season. While details about her contract have surfaced, Roberta Rodrigues confirmed the news on X. This means that Dantas becomes only the fourth Indiana Fever player to have a contract this season.
Till now, Fever has released all of its roster except Mikayla Timpson, Caitlin Clark, and Aliyah Boston. Suffering from an injury-plagued season last year, Stephanie White and co. decided to revamp the roster for the new season. And thus, they wanted to build around a strong core.

And this is where the decision to retain Dantas has angered the fans. The Brazilian star has had little impact on the team over all these years. Over the last couple of seasons, the 33-year-old never had a start. Playing 58 games coming off the bench, Dantas averaged 4.6 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 0.7 assists.

“These gals go overseas, play against others who are well below the average W skill level, and they look like superstars. They come back home and score 4pts in 20 minutes and fans are like wtf?” commented another.

“Yikes, There is really Nobody else willing to sign with the Fever? DD is a great player however she is NEVER healthy enough to play an entire season! What is this! Fever can’t be ok with the team that limped through the entire last season!” wondered another user.

“Ugh! She does not play well in the US. All I saw her do last year is come in and try and shoot her 3 ball but 70% of the time she missed. She’s slow, can’t guard well in the paint and defense is non existent. I guess 4.5 points per game is worth it?” chimed in a fan.
