Olivia Miles had been one of the biggest stars coming into the WNBA this season. Having taken the ‘dumb’ decision to stay in college for an additional year, Miles gave herself a phenomenal push. Reaping rich benefits, the star player dominated the collegiate realm.
Entering this year’s draft, the 23-year-old was thrilled to be called as the second overall pick. Joining the Minnesota Lynx alongside Napheesa Collier, Kayla McBride, and more, Miles will have one more name to look up to. And that is none other than the Minnesota head coach, Cheryl Reeve.

How Has Cheryl Reeve Influenced Olivia Miles Already?
The New Jersey native did miss out on getting TCU to a championship run. But looking at her season stats, averages of 19.6 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 6.6 assists will speak volumes about the 23-year-old’s prowess as a point guard. However, as she will now be under the guidance of Reeve, things are about to get harder. But while the Minnesota Lynx head coach enforces a strict approach, the former University of Notre Dame star looks forward to learning more.
“Yeah I mean, I expected a little worse, so l guess great(smiles). She’s been in my ear positively, just “take care of the ball” “look for this read” or “wait for your timing, get your spacing right”. Obviously Coach Whay is one of the greats so I can learn from her. The two of them, they’re teaching me to be a quarterback for sure,” said Miles.

Surely, as the Lynx would look to get themselves into a championship position, Miles’ contribution will play a major role. Especially since the team would be missing Collier’s services initially owing to her injury.
