Azzi Fudd Throws Her 1st Pitch At Texas Rangers Game Ahead Of WNBA Debut

The 2026 season excitement is just a few days away as the teams managed to address their issues following the drafts and free agency signings, and polished them in the training camp too. As for the Wings, their top pick, Azzi Fudd, impressed everyone in her training sessions and fit in perfectly with the side.

But the Dallas Wings’ preparations for the 2026 season are going on hot, not only on the training court but on the MLB field too, with their 2026 first overall pick being part of the tradition.

Azzi Fudd With First Pitch For Texas Rangers

Dallas is home to multiple sports, with many top teams in the region competing at the highest level. The Texas Rangers are one of those sides that won the World Series in 2023.

Following the tradition of making the first pitch on the home game after the WNBA draft, Fudd was at Globe Life Field for the game between the Texas Rangers and the New York Yankees as she threw the first Pitch for the Rangers.

While the former UConn star’s addition brought a fresh look and energy back in the lineup, the player will be looking to make an immediate impact for the side with her gameplay.

Paige Bueckers Addresses Questions Around Relationship With Azzi Fudd

Things got suspicious when the Dallas PR team intervened and stopped Fudd from answering questions about her personal relationship with Bueckers. There were huge criticisms about the step from the Wings’ front office.

But Bueckers recently spoke on the topic, answering a similar question. “Quite frankly, I believe me and Azzi’s personal relationship is nobody’s business but our own,” Bueckers said in a statement to reporters on Monday. “And what we choose to share is completely up to us,” Bueckers said.

“We’ve never let anything that happens off the court carry onto the court, and that’s what we’ll continue to do,” she continued and also added that she had nothing to do with the Wings drafting Fudd with the first pick in the 2026 WNBA Draft.

The players are looking to stay professional on the floor, and Bueckers also mentioned that she doesn’t want to hear anything about their relationship throughout the season.
